    Suspect wanted in reported RTD bus shooting downtown that injured 1

    DENVER (KDVR) — Denver police and the Metro Denver Crime Stoppers released photos of an armed suspect who may have fired a weapon on a bus in the downtown area on Tuesday.

    The incident was reported to have occurred on the Regional Transportation District’s 15L bus near 15th Street and Tremont Place, which is a few blocks from Civic Center Park. The shooting was reported shortly after 3 p.m. on Tuesday.

    On Wednesday, the suspect’s description and photos were released.

    According to Metro Denver Crime Stoppers, the suspect is Black, male, approximately 6 feet tall, 20-30 years old, with a “scruffy” beard/goatee. He was wearing black clothing and shoes and carrying a black backpack, according to the release.

    Police said the suspect fled the area after the shooting, and the apparent victim self-transported to a hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.

    This info could have been released almost immediately after the shooting. RTD PD got the images to DPD very quickly.
