DENVER ( KDVR ) — A shelter-in-place order has been lifted in western Superior after a person of interest was on the run.

At 7:35 a.m., Monday, the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Notification System issued a mandatory shelter-in-place for those near South 76th Street and Sycamore Street. The neighborhood surrounds the shopping center that has a Target and a Costco, west of U.S. 36.

FOX31 learned that deputies were called to the area for a possible stolen vehicle. When they arrived on scene, they saw a man behind the fenced area of a storage facility. When deputies tried to contact the man, they said he fled in the Sagamore neighborhood behind the shopping center.

    A shelter-in-placed was then issued.

Nearly two hours later, the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office said an all-clear was issued and residents may resume their normal activities.

The sheriff’s office said the suspect fled the area and has not been located.
