Denver weather: Milder Friday ahead of a hot weekend

DENVER (KDVR) — After record-setting heat on Thursday, more sunshine and warmer-than-normal temperatures are in Denver’s weather forecast.

Weather tonight: Partly cloudy, mild

Thursday night, there will be a few passing clouds and a northerly shift in the wind as a cold front moves through. Low temperatures will only fall to the upper 50s, which is nearly 15 degrees above normal for this time of year.

Weather tomorrow: Sunny, still warm

Friday, a northwesterly breeze behind the front will help to lower temperatures a bit. Highs will still climb to the mid-80s, which is about 10 degrees above average.

Looking ahead: Sunshine and warmth

Sunshine and warmer weather return for the weekend. Saturday’s high temperature will climb to the upper 80s, which is nearly 10 degrees above normal, but still out of reach of the daily record, which is 92 degrees set in 2010.

Sunshine will aid in temperatures climbing toward 90 degrees on Sunday, which is again just shy of the daily record, which is 92 degrees set in 1892.

Another dry cold front will move through on Monday, shifting the breeze and helping to limit high temperatures to the mid-80s Monday afternoon, then only 80 degrees on Tuesday. Wednesday will be warm and sunny again with temperatures reaching the upper 80s, ahead of more seasonal temperatures Thursday.
