DENVER ( KDVR ) — In the Denver metro area, the ghost of many chain stores still lingers inside what are now Spirit Halloween stores.

Spirit Halloween is a popular costume store, known for only staying at a location for the fall season and disappearing after Halloween.

When it comes to the location of these pop-up shops, it’s usually in buildings where businesses have already shut down. In Denver, many stores that declared bankruptcy are now used to fashion Coloradans with their Halloween outfits.

Denver metro stores that turned into Spirit Halloweens

According to Spirit Halloween, here are what some of the pop-up stores in the Denver metro used to be before they turned into costume stores for the season:

Stores like Forever 21 and Bed Bath and Beyond , which make up four of the many Spirit Halloween stores in the metro area, previously filed for bankruptcy. Meanwhile, other major retailers like Walmart and Office Depot are no longer using the large spaces, which is where Spirit Halloween decided to set up shop this year.
