DENVER ( KDVR ) — A teenager accused in a shooting that wounded five people outside a bar in Lower Downtown Denver pleaded guilty to attempted murder on Friday.

According to the district attorney’s office, Keanna Rosenburgh pleaded guilty to one count of attempted murder. The count names eight different victims, five of whom were shot.

The shooting happened on Sept. 16, 2023, outside a bar at 19th and Market Street. According to Denver police, Rosenburgh , a juvenile whose exact age was not released, tried to get into a bar but was denied entry by the club’s security. The security guard thought Rosenburgh wasn’t using her own ID.

Rosenburgh allegedly got out of line, went back to speak to security and then fired shots toward the club as she walked away.

Andrew Reader was working security at a bar across from the crime scene the night of the shooting. He has since left the industry to not work in LoDo anymore.

“Wearing a bulletproof vest all the time down there, not really something I needed to put my kids through. Just not really a safe thing, place for me to be in,” said Reader. “I try not to think about it too much. I mean it does effect me, I still have dreams about it but I’m glad I got myself out of that situation.”

In total, five people were injured, but all survived.

Reader recalled hearing about 5-6 shots fired, and secured bar patrons inside until the police said it was safe to come out. But even though the five people who were shot all survived, Reader believes the suspect should face more time behind bars.

“It was almost a pretty regular thing to hear gunshots or even somebody getting stabbed or fights in bars,” said Reader. “It could have easily been somebody’s life, if not mine, other people around… Being shot in the leg or the toe still has a huge impact, surgeries, hospital stays, not only that just financially too.”

Police said Rosenburgh may have been shooting toward security and the five victims were not the intended targets.

Following the shooting, police released surveillance video in an effort to find Rosenburgh. Her face was widely circulated, and she was ultimately taken into custody in Barstow, California two months later in October 2023. The city is in the Mojave Desert of southern California, nearly halfway between Los Angeles and Las Vegas.

The district attorney’s office said Rosenburgh will be sentenced on Jan. 22. The DA said she faces up to seven years in the Colorado Youthful Offender System and a 21-year suspended sentence in the Colorado Department of Corrections.
