Man wanted for firing shots at juveniles in Aurora

DENVER ( KDVR ) — Aurora police are looking for a man who allegedly fired shots at a group of juveniles in what is being called a bias-motivated attempted murder.

The Aurora Police Department posted about the man on X , and officers are hoping someone recognizes him.

According to the department, the man approached several juveniles in the 2900 block of South Havana Street, east of the Denver Southeast District Park, and allegedly fired his weapon at them while making racial remarks. While no one was injured, one juvenile said they were nearly hit.

Police said the man was between 25-35 years old and was last seen wearing:

• A black sweatshirt
• Blue jeans
• Black/white shoes
• Carried a green backpack
• Wore an ID or work badge on a lanyard around his neck

Aurora police said the man may be armed with a handgun, so do not approach him.

Anyone with information on the man’s identity or his whereabouts is asked to call the Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Tipsters can remain anonymous and be eligible for a cash reward.
