On the scene, officers found a woman with serious injuries in the passenger seat of one car. She was taken to a hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

The Wheat Ridge Police Department provided an update on X Friday, saying that video evidence indicated that both drivers ran a red light at the intersection.

The police department charged both drivers with careless driving resulting in death.
