DENVER (KDVR) — The Pinpoint Weather Team, Colorado’s Most Accurate Forecast, has issued an Alert Day for Saturday due to high fire danger in the high country, foothills, and eastern Plains.

Denver’s weather will likely be warm, sunny, and breezy as temperatures again approach record highs in the afternoon.

Much of the northern third of Colorado is under a fire weather warning starting Saturday morning until Saturday evening at 7 p.m. Winds will be highest in the warned areas where wind gusts in the eastern plains may reach 30 miles per hour, but occasional wind gusts of 40-50 miles per hour will be possible in the high country.

    Weather tonight: Breezy and mild

Colder temperatures expected in the mountains overnight.

Winds will be slightly elevated overnight Friday as temperatures fall only into the middle 50s – about 10 degrees warmer than normal – with clear skies. Expect winds to blow from the south-southwest around 10 to 20 miles per hour.

Weather tomorrow: Warm, breezy with increased fire danger

Temperatures will be near record highs again Saturday.

Denver will once again be pushing record highs Saturday afternoon. The record is 86 degrees set in 1997, and chances are good we’ll at least tie the record.

Will Denver skip over fall and go straight from summer to winter?

Expect temperatures in the middle 80s elsewhere across the Front Range and eastern plains. Southeast Colorado will spend yet another day in the lower and middle 90s.

Looking ahead: Fall weather still elusive

After Saturday, the forecast, which is already pretty quiet, will simmer down starting Sunday. Temperatures will fall to the upper 70s near 80 degrees Sunday afternoon, although it will still be a touch breezy.

Temperatures remain unseasonably warm with lots of sunshine through next week.

Through next week, we’ll continue our trend of having sunny and dry weather with above-normal temperatures. Denver’s average high is now around 70 degrees, but we’ll remain at least 10 degrees warmer than that through at least next week.
