    Police: Pedestrian ran across street when hit, killed by oncoming vehicle

    DENVER (KDVR) — The Aurora Police Department reported in a post on X, that a pedestrian was involved in a crash at Colfax Avenue and Macon Way in Aurora.

    The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene of the crash.

    The pedestrian, an adult male, was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The Aurora Police Department released an update in a post on X, that the pedestrian had died due to his injuries.

    The westbound lanes on Colfax Avenue between Macon Way and Lima Street have reopened following a closure after the crash.

    Preliminary investigation: Man ran through street, not in crosswalk

    According to a case report from Aurora police, a preliminary investigation found that the man was not in the crosswalk when he was hit. Police said he ran across Colfax Avenue and was hit by a Toyota SUV that was driving west.

    Police said there is no indication of speed or alcohol contributing to the crash, however, investigators will continue to to determine what factors led up to the crash.

    The case marks the 37th traffic-related death in Aurora this year.

    That's sad, it wasn't the drivers fault but can you imagine he probably has a sense of guilt eventhough it wasn't fault people are brave running across busy streets.
