DENVER (KDVR) — While Saturday is a Pinpoint Weather Alert Day for fire danger conditions and with fire agencies taking preventative measures because of the weather, the National Weather Service out of Boulder reported in a post on X , that as of Saturday afternoon, there are no active wildfires in Colorado.

However, they also reported that Coloradans might see or smell smoke as a result of some fires happening out of state.

Most of the smoke is coming from the Yellow Lake Fire in Utah but wildfires in Wyoming and Idaho are beginning to make larger contributions to the plume, according to the NWS.

Dry conditions continue to affect fire safety locally. The out-of-state fires are a reminder that wildfires are still a threat, even this late into the year.

gee, we’re sure sorry but I think I’d rather deal with smoke than have my home and livelihood, even my life go up in flames!
