Aurora police: 1 seriously hurt in shooting after fight

DENVER (KDVR) — An adult man was seriously hurt after being shot in the leg during a large fight in a hotel parking lot in Aurora Saturday night, according to the Aurora Police Department.

Police said around 10:15 p.m. Saturday officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 14200 block of East Colfax Avenue and found a “chaotic crowd of teenagers,” that had just been involved in a large fight.

During the fight, the adult man was shot in the leg. Police said officers applied a tourniquet to his leg and he was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Three teens also sustained minor injuries in the fight and not the shooting and were taken to a local hospital.

Police were still investigating what led up to the fight and subsequent shooting.
