DENVER, Colo. ( KREX ) — Gov. Jared Polis announced Tuesday that Colorado will provide help to Florida as Hurricane Milton looms.

The state of Colorado and the National Guard will send a Chinook helicopter and eight crew members to Florida to aid in preparation and relief.

Milton again becomes Category 5 hurricane while churning toward Florida

“It is the Colorado way to step up and lend a hand to our fellow Americans in need, today will be no different. Our helicopter and crew are in the air and should land in Florida later today. We keep those devastated by Hurricanes Helene and Milton in our thoughts and pray for their safety,” Polis said in a press release.

Colorado has also provided resources to states impacted by Hurricane Helene.

Gov. Polis is a very good Governor. Even though I identify as conservative, I would vote for him again in a New York minute. He sure beats former Governors like Hickenlooper and gosh even Roy Romer (I was very young but remember him).
