Pedestrian killed in crash on Chambers Road in Aurora

DENVER ( KDVR ) — A man was killed after he was struck by a car while crossing the street in Aurora, according to police.

At 8:25 p.m. on Tuesday, Aurora police were called to a crash on Chambers Road north of East Colfax Avenue.

According to police, a Chevrolet sedan hit a man who was crossing mid-block outside the crosswalk on Chambers Road. The man was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police said the driver of the sedan remained on scene. Officers do not believe speed or intoxication were contributing factors in the crash.

Both directions of Chambers Road between Colfax and East 17th Avenue were closed for a period of time while the traffic detectives investigated. The road has since reopened.
