Hudson, Colo. (KDVR) — A Weld County farm rescue is in a water emergency after their only source of water, their well, broke.

Roscoe’s Rescue in Hudson has been without water for three days. Their well broke and workers have been having issues with a stuck pump and pipeage in the way. The likely solution is a whole new well pump that will cost minimally $10,200.

Owner, Kris Nguyen says it’s been extremely taxing mentally and financially to find a solution.

“I’m worried. It’s like when you think you have a cushion and you think you’re ahead and something happens like this you weren’t prepared for,” She said.

They’ve had neighbors who’ve been supplying truckloads of their well water to the farm and have been filling up donated jugs at another neighbor’s home, but these are all temporary solutions.

“It’s dangerous because if you don’t keep up with the water and the heat outside, inside too, it’s really dangerous. We’re on the third day right now and they’re trying. They were here until 7 o’clock last night and no telling if they get by tonight it may go into four or five days,” Nguyen said.

They have 73 animals ranging from dairy cows to pigs, to ducks and chinchillas. All were rescued in some way. Nguyen says she and her family haven’t showered this whole time trying to save what water they have and not leave their animals alone.

“We try to give our animals the best comfort they can have. Our animals will not be adopted out they live their lives here, but this has been a big burden because they’re used to being spoiled and having unlimited sources of water and as fast as you’re filling it, is as fast as they’re drinking,” she said.
