DENVER (KDVR) — The Regional Transportation District is starting the Free MallRide service at the 16th Street Mall following several openings of previously closed-off blocks.

RTD will begin the Free MallRide service on Oct. 13.

First snow of 2024 expected to be one of the latest in Denver’s history

The service will operate between Union Station and Curtis Street. Mallgoers can board the service on any of the mall’s newly opened blocks.

The Free MallRide will continue to be available to people on 15th and 17th streets between Curtis Street and Civic Center Station while construction of the 16th Street Mall continues into 2025.

RTD also stated that with the vehicles returning to these areas on the 16th Street Mall, pedestrians should keep a sharp eye out and look both ways for incoming shuttles when crossing the transitway.
