Multi-vehicle crash snarls northbound traffic on I-225 near I-70

DENVER ( KDVR ) — A multi-vehicle crash was reported by the Aurora Police Department on Thursday evening, causing some traffic slowdowns in the area.

The agency said that northbound Interstate 225 was restricted to one lane as first responders worked to clear a multi-vehicle crash from the northbound lanes. Aurora police said there were no serious injuries reported in the crash.

The affected stretch of road is from Colfax/17th Avenue to the Interstate 70 interchange.

The Aurora agency said the crash investigation “is expected to impact northbound traffic for several hours.” At about 10:30 p.m., the agency said the roadway reopened to normal traffic.

Alternative routes to I-70 include using Fitzsimons Parkway to Peoria Street.
