DENVER ( KDVR ) — Election Day is three weeks away, and the Regional Transportation District is helping voters participate by offering two days of zero fare.

According to RTD, “Zero Fare to Vote will occur during the general election cycle and removes a cost barrier for people to travel on RTD services to cast their ballot.”

November ballots will be arriving soon: What to know about Election Day 2024

On Tuesday, Oct. 29, also known as National Vote Early Day , and on Tuesday, Nov. 5, Election Day, RTD services will be available at no cost, allowing voters to take public transportation to drop-off boxes or polling centers.

“Providing RTD customers with systemwide zero fare transit to access polling places was well received when introduced in 2022,” said General Manager and CEO Debra A. Johnson in a press release. “This year and in subsequent general election years, registered voters can rely on RTD to deliver them to any polling place throughout the district to exercise their constitutional right to vote.”

How to find your nearest polling center or ballot box

There are ballot boxes and voting centers all over the state. Coloradans can go to the Secretary of State’s Office’s website to find the location closest to them.

Commuters can also use RTD’s trip planner app and click the “Vote” icon to find the best route to get to their designated voting location. RTD said riders can filter their locations by selecting “Drop Box,” “Early Voting” and “Open Now.”

Polling centers will close at 7 p.m. on Election Day.

When will you receive your ballot?

On Oct. 11, county clerks began mailing out ballots to eligible Coloradans. Every registered voter in the state will receive a ballot in the mail regardless if the voter chooses to mail in their ballot, return it to a drop box or vote in person on Election Day.

Voters can track the status of their ballot by using an online tool known as BallotTrax . The tool will provide updates on when the ballot has been mailed out and when it has officially been counted. Colorado can begin counting mail-in ballots on Oct. 21.

More information on how to register, how to vote and what’s on the ballot this year can be found on the Colorado Secretary of State’s website.
