These Colorado breweries won awards at the Great American Beer Festival

DENVER ( KDVR ) — Breweries from all over the country headed to Denver this weekend for the Great American Beer Festival , but only some went home with a title.

Every year, the festival hosts hundreds of breweries that hand out beer and cider samples, along with some fun games and other events. While the festival is for entertainment, it’s also a competition.

The breweries are competing in the premier U.S. beer competition that crowns the finest beverages in the country, according to the festival. Among the over 300 beers awarded at the festival, over 40 of them were from Colorado breweries.
