Which Colorado towns could see snow this weekend?

DENVER ( KDVR ) — Denver’s weather will start to cool this weekend, while some towns around Colorado could see as much as seven inches of snow.

Snow in the Mile High City is still a few weeks out , as the past few months have been unseasonably warm.

While fall temperatures have been pushed back in the metro, the mountains are gearing up for the winter season with the forecast showing the possibility of a few inches of snow across the state.

Denver’s forecast

In the Denver metro, weekend storms start on Friday and continue into Sunday, but the Pinpoint Weather team only expects rain and temperatures in the 50s and 60s with overnight lows in the high 30s.

While the Pinpoint Weather team said there is no snow in the forecast for Denver, other areas across Colorado should expect anywhere from trace amounts to a few inches.

How much snow could fall across Colorado?

Colorado’s mountains have already seen trace amounts of snow this season, but now, a few more inches are expected this weekend.

According to the Pinpoint Weather team, a light dusting is expected in Colorado Springs, with a few flakes around the Palmer Divide on Saturday or Sunday morning. Meanwhile, other areas around the state could see as much as seven inches.

• Steamboat Springs: 1 inch
• Aspen: 1 inch
• Salida: 1 inch
• Pueblo: 1 inch
• Estes Park: 1 inch
• Walden: 3 inches
• Vail Pass: 3 inches
• Vail: 4 inches
• Telluride: 5 inches
• Georgetown: 6 inches
• Pagosa Springs: 7 inches

While there will be some notable powder around the state, the Pinpoint Weather team said that most, if not all, of the snow will melt along the Front Range and in some of the lower mountain towns as the temperatures will make it to the 50s during the afternoons.

Most of the snow should melt by the start of the next workweek, but the Pinpoint Weather team said conditions could be slippery in the high country, so check the weather before you head out.
