The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office told FOX31 the crash was a hit-and-run that killed a pedestrian. The investigation is still in its early stages, and it is unclear why the pedestrian was on the interstate to begin with.

CSP added that the driver allegedly left the car at the scene and fled on foot.

Southbound lanes of I-225 were closed for around four hours and reopened to traffic at around 4:30 a.m.

CSP is handling the investigation, and more information will be released at a later date.

This is a developing story, more information will be added as it becomes available.
