    Denver weather: Cloudy and cool with some rain, more mountain snow

    DENVER (KDVR) — It has been almost a month since Denver weather and parts of the state have seen rain or snow. The needed moisture will continue Saturday morning and will stick around through late Sunday before it dries out again.

    The best chance for rain showers for Denver and the Front Range will be the first half of Saturday, according to Pinpoint Weather, Colorado’s Most Accurate Forecast.

    Weather Today: Early showers for Denver, mountain snow

    Rain showers will continue early Saturday morning for the metro area and for the Front Range. Look for drier air to prevail by the afternoon, but the clouds will stick around. Highs are forecasted to top out in the upper 50s and lower 60s under mostly cloudy skies.

    Meanwhile in the high country snow will still be accumulating, with the deepest now totals in the San Juans.

    Weather tonight: On & off showers, mountain snow

    It will dry out overnight in the metro area as lows sink down into the middle to lower 40s. Winds will be out of the south anywhere from 5-15 mph and gusts as high as 20 mph. Rain and snow will continue in southwestern Colorado and add to snow totals in the upper elevations.

    Looking ahead: Drying out with warm days ahead

    The forecast looks dry again once the weekend storms lift away from Colorado on Sunday.

    There will be a few light remaining rain showers for the Front Range on Sunday especially late in the day. Some additional light snow will fall in the mountains with little accumulation.

    Temperatures will quickly turn warm with above-average readings in the 70s expected each afternoon through the end of the week. The average high in Denver is in the low 60s for this late in October. Record highs next week are all in the low 80s and look out of reach.
