DENVER ( KDVR ) — A man was shot by a Weld County deputy after he allegedly discharged his firearm.

At 12:16 a.m., the Weld County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to a disturbance in the 200 block of 2nd Avenue Lane in unincorporated Weld County. The area is just west of U.S. Route 85 and the Greeley-Weld County Airport.

When officers arrived, deputies said they encountered an adult man who was armed with a firearm. The sheriff’s office said the man discharged the firearm and a deputy responded, firing his weapon and hitting the man twice.
