KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A man convicted in July of first-degree murder will serve a life sentence without the possibility of parole for 50 years.

The Johnson County District Attorney’s Office says a judge sentenced 26-year-old Zarrell Semaj Finley to a “Hard 50” for shooting and killing 26-year-old Shaquille Jackson at an Overland Park gas station on July 31, 2022.

The jury that found Finley guilty of murder also convicted him for being a felon in possession of a firearm. His sentences for both counts run concurrently according to the district attorney’s office.

Johnson County court records show he served more than two years for a pair of felony drug convictions in a 2019 case.

Big difference between Johnson County and Wyandotte County. Wyandotte County is a joke
