Lee’s Summit West student receives Congressional Award Gold Medal

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Representative Emanuel Cleaver II (MO-05) presented a Congressional Award Gold Medal to a Lee’s Summit West student yesterday, August, 16.

Ethan Wood earned the award for his dedication and service to his community. Wood completed over 408 voluntary work hours over three years, establishing a 3D printing lab at Operation Breakthrough , giving out hand-painted cards at senior centers, mentoring local youth robotics teams and more.

“On behalf of Missouri’s Fifth Congressional District, I am proud to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Wood for this monumental accomplishment and well-earned distinction. This remarkable achievement is a testament to Ethan’s unwavering commitment to excellence and public service,” said Congressman Cleaver.
