Chiefs Kingdom roaring at Arrowhead for the first time since January

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Fans were excited to be back at Arrowhead Stadium Saturday, cheering on the Chiefs.

Fans are now looking ahead to the start of the regular season.

“We are looking for a win. It’s the pre-season, but it’s just going to show us what our team is going to look like for the upcoming season,” said Chiefs season ticket holder Alicia Powell.

Although Kansas City came up short against the Detroit Lions, fans are still excited about what the team will accomplish this season.

“The game was awesome. My favorite part was when Xavier Worthy caught that touchdown. It was just so electric and very awesome when he caught that,” said Chase Stewart, who was at the pre-season game.

Chiefs fans are also excited to get back to their football season traditions. Tailgating started early Saturday before the preseason game against the Detroit Lions.

“I’m just looking for the Chiefs to win another Super Bowl and have a good time at the games,” said Jennifer Miller, another fan at the game.

We heard a similar message from plenty of other fans.

“The three-peat, the three-peat. Back-to-back-to-back-to-back Super Bowls,” said Chris Arens, a Chiefs fan.

“Three-peat, we are about to get three rings back to back,” said Gloria Splawn at the game.

“I’m ready for the home opener on September 5th. We’re ready, we are so ready.”

Many were looking forward to understanding what the regular season could look like.

“Probably seeing the rookies play and stuff Xavier Worthy and seeing what he is going to bring to the table this year,” Arens explained.
