KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A 21-year-old Clay County man has been arrested for multiple drug trafficking charges after deputies found enough fentanyl to kill about two-thirds of the Kansas City, Missouri population in his car.

Deputies said they had been searching for Langston due to a previous drug trafficking warrant. However, when they approached Langston, he attempted to flee by ramming the patrol. He reportedly failed to escape and was quickly placed under arrest.

After he was in custody, investigators searched Langston’s car and found 1.5 pounds of powdered fentanyl and 0.4 pounds of methamphetamine. According to the Sheriff’s Department, two milligrams of fentanyl could be lethal, meaning this quantity could kill about 327,000 people.

Langston was charged with two counts of first-degree drug trafficking and one count of resisting arrest. This is in addition to his previous drug trafficking charge.
