4 The People: Labor Day Special

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — In a special Labor Day Holiday Weekend edition of “4 The People,” we highlight a couple of local groups laboring to make the community better.

Christina Ludwig and James Eddy of Crimestoppers share new details about a survey that was launched in May. They want residents of the metro counties served by the program to take a survey that gives them a better idea of where the non-profit stands in the community as it works to boost the number of tips that are sent in.

Then, former Kansas City Chiefs center Tim Grunhard joins us as the Chiefs opener looms to share how Chiefs alumni like himself help the club stay connected with the Chiefs Kingdom. The Chiefs Ambassadors are made up of former Chiefs players who stay active at community events, and raise money for good causes.

They represent the team while active players are busy preparing for the Ravens and a possible three-peat season!

Finally, a “4 The People Extra”: A metro Marine goes on a decade long quest to connect a World War II soldier who was killed in action, with his immediate family.

They could not be found for the 1997 ceremony at the White House when PFC Willy James was awarded the Medal of Honor for his valor. One of seven African Americans honored decades after the war ended.
