    Parts of I-435 to close in Johnson County for repairs

    JOHNSON COUNTY, Kan. — Parts of I-435 are scheduled to close this week for bridge repairs in Johnson County.

    This is part of the Kansas Department of Transportation repair project on the 95th Street over the I-435 bridge. It is scheduled to start tonight.

    Work is scheduled overnight during the following times:

    • Sunday – Thursday: 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
    • Friday: 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.
    • Saturday: 10 p.m. to 11 a.m.

    The bridge repair project includes structural steel straightening and is expected to be completed in mid-September.

    The cost of the project is $380,000.

    During the project, the Renner Road to southbound I-435 entrance ramp will be fully closed to traffic and nightly lane closures will be scheduled for southbound I-435 at 95th Street.

    Message boards will be in place notifying motorists of the bridge repair. Traffic will be controlled using portable message signs, arrow boards, signage and traffic cones.
