KANSAS CITY, Mo. — It’s the first Victory Friday of the 2024 Chiefs season. The Chiefs pulled off the win by a hair, or rather, a toe.

“It was the final toe,” 11-year-old Chiefs Fan Ethan Arnell said.

“It was like that much in the white line. It was really close.”

The Chiefs defeated the Baltimore Ravens at home last night 27-20, and fans are still riding the high of winning the season opener by a toe.

Chiefs fans said the stadium got quiet after the Isaiah Likely catch that would’ve allowed the Ravens to tie or win the game in the final seconds.

Then, they saw the toe out of bounds and Arrowhead erupted.

“Hopefully they win the Super Bowl,” Ethan said.

“A third, back-to-back-to-back Super Bowl is insane,” 12-year-old Chiefs Fan Jack Arnell said.

“Big things to come for our future, and we look forward to a three-peat,” Chiefs Fan Jelan Anderson said.

Fans are all smiles after a Thursday night win against the Ravens.

On Baltimore Avenue in Kansas City, Raygun, a clothing store is already cooking up fresh ideas for Chiefs fans this season.

Store manager Greg Lewis says t-shirts highlighting first-round draft pick Xavier Worthy are already in the works.

“With Worthy being the newcomer and with the perfect last name, Worthy Kingdom, Worthy Championship, Worthy, there’s so many things you can do,” Lewis said.

“It’s going to be a play on a lot of the names of a lot of the players.”

The rookie also caught the eyes of fans , like Louis Morales.

“The one drive he took off that he just took off and nobody was able to catch him, I’m like, this kid’s fast!” he said.

Another big talker was the last-second out-of-bounds catch.

At first, most fans thought Ravens tight end Isaiah Likely caught the touchdown with both feet inbounds, giving them a shot at tying or winning the game.

    “My heart dropped,” Morales said.

“When they caught it, it just went silent,” Ethan said.

“And everybody was like, ‘Did they make it, did they not make it?'”

Ethan and Jack Anell, who traveled from Utah for the game, were on their toes at their first game inside Arrowhead Stadium.

Jelan Anderson was also in the stands, he flew in from Atlanta.

“Before the replay the whole stadium got quiet,” Anderson said.

“They reviewed it like a dozen times and then they showed it, and half the fans thought it was in half the fans thought it was out,” Jack said.

    “It was crazy.”

Just before the official ruling on the field, Anderson said he saw Mahomes and Co. celebrate.

“The evidence is clear, no touchdown. It was a relief at that moment,” Anderson said.

    “Pure joy of that moment.”

The Chiefs now look ahead to Sept. 15 at Arrowhead Stadium, when they’ll play against against the Cincinnati Bengals.
