    KCPD says missing 62-year-old man with dementia safely located

    UPDATE: KCPD says Jonah Johnson has been safely located.

    KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Police Department is searching for a 62-year-old man with dementia who disappeared from his apartment last week.

    According to KCPD, Jonah Johnson of Kansas City, Missouri was last seen on Monday, Sept. 2 at about 9 p.m. leaving his apartment near the 1800 block of East 29th Street.

    He is 5 foot 11 and is said to weigh approximately 250 pounds. KCPD said he was last seen wearing a red Chiefs jersey, dark pants and blue shoes when he disappeared.

    Johnson suffers from dementia and may not know where he is or become confused. He is said to walk with a cane and a limp due to a hip injury, and when he left his apartment, he did not take his medications.
