KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The housing market in Kansas City has seen a rise in the last few years — and is now tied for the hottest in the country.

Rachel Kilmer, a Reece-Nichols real estate agent, joined the FOX4 Morning Show with more insight into the housing market.

Kansas City’s housing market is experiencing a sharp increase in demand. The city’s population is growing, and more people are looking to buy property than the market can provide.

U.S. News & World Report named Kansas City one of the hottest housing markets in the United States, tying it with Austin, Texas.

Kilmer said she believes the hot housing market can be attributed to many things. A few of the things she listed were the relationship between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, the 2026 World Cup and the NFL Draft.

She says she thinks people are realizing Kansas City is not just a flyover area.

because everyone is trying to get out of Kansas city and you can buy a house for penny's on the dollar..but the taxes will eat you alive..I guess for what you pay for a house it puts it in the right price range..and most people only want the houses to rent them out..
