    Excelsior Springs police say suspect involved in road rage shooting in custody

    KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Excelsior Springs Police Department says they have located the suspect and vehicle involved in a road rage shooting on Thursday.

    The police department said they were contacted by the victim around 4:30 p.m.

    The incident began at Walmart and the shooting occurred at Schwartz Avenue and 69 Highway near the Excelsior Springs Animal Clinic, according to police.

    Police said the suspect left in an unknown direction in a dark blue full size Chevrolet van with an Ohio license plate.

    The police department released an update just before 7:20 p.m. that with the help of the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect was taken into custody.

    The suspect will be identified after charges are filed.
