    Power & Light District giving away two-year lease to KCPS teacher

    KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Power and Light District announced that it is renewing its partnership with Kansas City Public Schools by gifting a teacher a two-year lease.

    Power and Light is celebrating the hard work, creativity and dedication of teachers for the sixth time since 2019. This time, the lease will be for a newly renovated loft at Midland Lofts .

    “Our tradition of recognizing Kansas City Public Schools educators for their hard work and dedication continues this fall and we couldn’t be more pleased,” said John Moncke, president of KC P&L.

    “We are passionate about investing in our community and are proud to partner with Kansas City Public Schools.”

    Developers hope to bring entertainment district to Olathe with STAR bonds

    KCPS teachers can nominate themselves or colleagues for the giveaway. The application will be sent out directly to teachers, with the nomination period ending on September 30. The winner will be selected in late October.

    “We are thrilled to once again partner with the Kansas City Power & Light District for the sixth year to provide a free apartment lease to one of our incredible teachers. This initiative is just one way we can show our gratitude for the tireless dedication of our educators. We’re also deeply appreciative of the Kansas City Power & Light District for offering generous discounts to all KCPS employees, further supporting our team,” said Dr. Jennifer Collier, superintendent of Kansas City Public Schools.

    “As we continue to seek meaningful ways to recognize our teachers and staff, this tradition remains a testament to the strong community partnerships that help make KCPS a great place to work.”

    Additionally, the lease giveaway, special pricing incentives at One Light , Two Light , Three Light and Midland Lofts apartment leases for qualified employees were announced early this year at a Teacher Appreciation Happy Hour held by the Kansas City Power & Light District for KCPS.

    Yeah. There are some very specific qualifications for this. Not every teacher is eligible.
