Motorcyclist fighting for life after overnight crash in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One person was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries Saturday night after a motorcycle crash in Kansas City, Missouri.

According to the Kansas City Police Department, just before 11:50 p.m., officers and emergency responders were dispatched to the area of East 31st Street and Van Brunt Boulevard on reports of a “one-vehicle collision.”

Preliminary investigations revealed that a Honda motorcycle had been speeding westbound on East 31st Street when the driver lost control and hit a curb on the center median between north and southbound Van Brunt Boulevard.

Police said the driver was ejected off the motorcycle and landed on a grass curb.

The driver reportedly received life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital by EMS.

Investigations revealed that the motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet.
