    Where to register to vote in Kansas, Missouri for November election

    KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The deadlines to register to vote in Kansas and Missouri for the Nov. 5 general election is next month.

    Kansans have until Tuesday, Oct. 15, to register to vote for the upcoming election. Missouri’s last day to register to vote is the week before on Wednesday, Oct. 9.

    Tuesday, Sept. 17, is National Voter Registration Day. UMKC student organizations and BLAQUE KC will have a registration drive from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on UMKC’s campus.

    League of Women’s Voters of Kansas City will have a registration drive also on Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Penn Valley’s College’s campus center, Longview Community College, 31st and Prospect, 31st and Troost and at 39th and Troost.

    Jackson County expungement clinic will have a voter registration drive on Tuesday from 3:30 pm. to 7 p.m. at the Morning Star Community Center.

    Residents can register online . A valid Kansas driver’s license or non-driver’s identification card is required. Without one of those forms of ID, Kansas residents must register using a paper application .

    Kansans can also register to vote in person at their county election office, the Secretary of State’s Office, or at their local Department of Motor Vehicles.

    Once you submit your voter registration application, your local county election office will notify you.

    You must re-register each time you change your name, address or party affiliation for voting, according to the Kansas Secretary of State’s Office.

    Wyandotte County residents to vote on $180 million bond for KCK schools in November

    For Missourians, people will need to be 17 and a half years old to be able to register to vote but must be 18 years old by the time of the election to vote. Voters need to be a U.S. citizen and a Missouri resident.

    Voters can register online by completing a Missouri Voter Registration Application online . Mail-in registration forms can be requested online as well .

    If voters move to a different address in the same county, they can change the address on election day at the new polling place. However, if voters moved outside where they were previously registered, voters will need to fill out a new voter registration form.

    In addition, voters will be given a limited ballot, containing federal and statewide candidates if they move after the registration deadline. They will also be issued a voter registration application in person with the local election authority.
