MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A construction worker with a Grain Valley company is dead and another is critically hurt after they were hit on Interstate 55 during a police chase in West Memphis, Arkansas, on Wednesday night.

The workers were with the Louis Company , which specializes in bridge and concrete repair. Arkansas State Police says they were contracted by the Arkansas Department of Transportation .

A spokesperson for the company told FOX4 sister station WREG that they do not have a statement at this time. Right now they are, “focusing on their employees.”

ASP says a suspect in a maroon Corvette drove into the workers who were working on the I-55 bridge during a high-speed chase from West Memphis into Memphis.
