KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Royals announced on Friday that first pitch for Saturday night’s game against the San Francisco Giants has changed due to the potential for inclement weather.

First pitch has been moved to 4:10 p.m. from the regularly scheduled time of 6:10 p.m.

Gates will open at 1 p.m.

The FOX4 Weather Team says scattered rain and a few rumbles of thunder are possible off and on during the day Saturday with cooler highs closer to 80 degrees.

Royals begin their three-game series against the Giants on Friday with the first pitch scheduled for 7:10 p.m. This is the first time the two teams are facing each other this season.

The Royals are on the verge of reaching the playoffs for the first time since 2015 when they won the World Series as they currently sit in the second Wild Card spot with just 11 games to play at 82-69.
