October live music calendar: Kansas City’s biggest shows of the month

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — As September comes to a close, another month brings another crop of live music to Kansas City. These aren’t all the shows going down in KC during October, but here are some of the more notable acts:

Tuesday, October 1

• Rap superstar Nicki Minaj will be bringing “ The Pink Friday 2 World Tour ” to T-Mobile to start the month. Rappers Tyga and Bia will open for Minaj, with deejay Skillibeng also set to perform.
• Judas Priest , hard rock legends who rose to fame in the early 1980s, will be promoting their new album “Invincible Shield” at Cable Dahmer Arena on Oct. 1 as well. They’ll be joined by hard rock band, Sabaton. e .

Wednesday, October 2

• Hard rock groups Seether and Skillet are set to take the stage at The Midland Theatre on October 2.

Friday, October 4

• Grammy-nominated alternative rock group Fontaines D.C. will play The Granada in Lawrence with Been Stellar.

Saturday, October 5

• Rap group $UICIDEBOY$ will be playing T-Mobile Center with a variety of other contemporary rap artists. Denzel Curry, Pouya, HAARPER, Shakewell and Ekkstacy will be the supporting acts.
• 80s rock band Foreigner will take the stage at Azura Amphitheater in Bonner Springs on October 5 as well. The band will be joined by Loverboy.

Sunday, October 6

• Multiple-time Grammy award-winning duo For King + Country will take the stage at T-Mobile Center on Sunday, October 6.

Monday, October 7

• Indie pop act Still Woozy is set to play at the Midland Theatre with other indie acts Gus Dapperton and PawPaw Rod on October 7.

Saturday, October 12

• Country artist Cody Johnson will be at T-Mobile on Saturday, October 12.

Wednesday, October 16

• Post-hardcore rock band Drug Church is stopping at Kansas City’s recordBar on October 16 on their “The Prude Tour.”

Friday, October 18

• The Nu-metal group Korn will be playing T-Mobile Center on a Friday night in Kansas City. Supporting acts are set to be French metal group Gojira, who were recently in headlines for their performance at the Olympics opening ceremony , and Canadian metal band Spiritbox.
• The Fray , the Denver rock band responsible for hits like, “How to Save a Life” and “You Found Me” will be playing the Truman on October 18.

Sunday, October 20

• Soul Asylum , the band behind the 1993 song “Runaway Train” will be in town on the 20th. Juliana Hatfield will open.

Tuesday, October 22

• Metal bands Asking Alexandria and Memphis May Fire are playing The Truman on October 22.
• Singer/songwriter Andy Grammer will also be in town on the 22nd at Muriel Kauffman Theatre-Kauffman PAC.

Thursday, October 24

• Metal group Hatebreed is bringing their “30th Anniversary Tour” to KC’s Uptown Theater . The group will be supported by Carcass, Harm’s Way and Crypta.
• Mason Ramsey , a.k.a. “Walmart Yodel Kid” for a viral 2018 video of him singing in a Walmart, is playing Knuckleheads in the West Bottoms on October 24.

Saturday, October 26

• Country superstar Alan Jackson will perform for the final time in Kansas City on his “ Last Call: One More For the Road ” tour at T-Mobile Center on Saturday, October 26.
• Another country star, Trace Adkins will also be in town that night. Adkins is set to play Muriel Kauffman Theatre.
• The third and final massive county act in Kansas City on the 26th is Travis Tritt . He’ll be at the Ameristar Casino and Hotel.
• Indie pop artist Dayglow will be at The Midland Theatre on October 26.

Tuesday, October 29

• Rapper Polo G is playing The Midland Theatre on October 29.
