KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City Chiefs legendary tight end Travis Kelce officially past Tony Gonzalez for the most receptions in Chiefs history.

With his second reception of the day against the LA Chargers, Kelce collected his 917th career reception, the most in team history. Kelce and Gonzalez have nearly 400 more receptions than the third-place player, Dwayne Bowe.

This feat adds to Kelce’s already impressive resume, which includes:

    • The most receiving yards by a tight end in a season (1,416 in 2020).
    • Most consecutive and overall seasons with 1,000+ receiving yards by a tight end (7).
    • Most receptions by a tight end in their first 10 seasons (814).
    • Most 100-yard games by a tight end (37).
    • Most postseason receptions by any NFL player (156).

Kelce sits just two receptions behind Rice’s in Super Bowl receptions record as well. If the Chiefs can get back to the big game before Kelce retires, it would be something to keep an eye on.
