1 dead, 2 in the hospital after crash east of 291 Highway

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One person is dead and two others are in the hospital after a deadly crash in Independence Sunday night.

According to the Independence Police Department, the crash happened around 10:45 p.m. on Salisbury Road east of 291- Highway.

Police said a Nissan pulled onto Salisbury from Downey Avenue, into the path of a Kia going east on Salisbury.

The driver of the Nissan was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. A passenger in the Nissan, as well as the driver of the Kia, were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Police did not identify anyone involved in the crash, however, investigations are still ongoing.

I don’t know why that the police don’t cover these highways more it seems like they want to be on the side street then on the highways I 72 in Green Valley and 291 and now 291 to whatever you’ve got these people that don’t watch out when they drive they’ve been out they speed around you. They run up on your backside. They go around you so fast you get a blink at them and they wonder why people are getting killed on I 70 and 291 the police department or highway patrol that’s watching the highways. They need to do their job and stop this, getting killed out there.
