    One man dead after shooting in east Kansas City

    KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One man is dead after a shooting Thursday morning in Kansas City, according to Kansas City police.

    Police said that just before 10:30 a.m. they were sent to reports of a shooting on College Avenue near 54th Street.

    When officers arrived, they found a man in the middle of the street suffering from gunshot wounds. When EMS arrived, they pronounced him dead.

    The victim has been identified by KCPD as 68-year-old William Bradford.

    Police believe the victim and the suspect were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated to shots being fired and the victim was struck.

    Detectives are asking for help in identifying the suspect. The suspect is described as a Black man, wearing all dark clothing, and drives a maroon mid-2000s Ford F-150 truck.

    Police said the suspect left the scene in an unknown direction in the F-150.
