KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Eric Hosmer, a member of the 2014 and 2015 Royals World Series teams as a first baseman, announced today, October 9 that he and his son Jack will be throwing the first pitch at Kauffman Stadium tonight ahead of the Royals-Yankees ALDS game three.

In a post on X , Hosmer announced the “task” that he and Jack had been assigned. With the series tied at a game apiece, the Royals will need some of the magic that Hosmer brought to the Royals nearly a decade ago.

In game one, also at Yankee Stadium, Andy Pettitte threw the first pitch. Pettitte is also a former Yankee, winning five World Series with New York.

Seth Lugo will be taking the mound after Eric and Jack Hosmer as the Royals look to go up 2-1 in the series with another game at Kauffman scheduled for tomorrow evening.
