    Metropolitan Community College evacuated as KCPD investigates suspicious package

    KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Penn Valley campus of the Metropolitan Community College campus was evacuated Wednesday afternoon.

    Kansas City police dispatch tells FOX4 they are investigating a suspicious package in front of Broadway Plaza.

    Police have the road shutdown between 32nd Street and Linwood Boulevard.

    An alert went out to students and staff just before 4 p.m. to evacuate and avoid the area. An all clear alert was sent out just after 5:10 p.m.
