    3.5 magnitude earthquake reported in central Kansas

    DICKINSON COUNTY – The U.S. Geological Survey ( USGS ) reports an earthquake was detected in central Kansas Thursday morning.

    The earthquake occurred in an area about four miles west of Woodbine in Dickinson County, according to data from the USGS. Its severity was a magnitude 3.5 on the Richter scale, making it a minor earthquake .

    Kansas experiences earthquakes occasionally, with some being attributed to the Humboldt fault zone , according to the Kansas Geological Survey. You can let the USGS know if you felt the earthquake by using this link .
