    Things to do this weekend in Kansas City Oct. 11-13

    KANSAS CITY, Mo. — It will be an action-packed weekend in Kansas City, so if you are looking for something to do, we’ve got you covered!

    Here are 10 events going on this weekend — Oct. 11 through Oct. 13 — that are worth checking out.

    Zona Rosa Fall Festival

    Zona Rosa’s Fall Fest is this weekend! Head up to the northland for games, food trucks, live music, bounce houses, pumpkin decorating, and more.

    There will also be a pop-up indie craft fair with local makers, artists and a DJ dance party.
    It’s from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at North Park and the bridge at Zona Rosa.

    Brew at the Zoo

    The Kansas City Zoo and Aquarium is hosting Brew at the Zoo this weekend. More than 35 local breweries and wineries will be there.

    It’s from 6:30 to 11:00 p.m. Saturday night.

    Cody Johnson at T-Mobile Center

    Nominee for ACM Entertainer of the Year, Cody Johnson, is performing in Kansas City this weekend. “The Leather Tour” is coming to T-Mobile Center on Saturday, featuring Johnson as well as Sammy Kershaw and Drew Parker.

    The show starts at 7:30 p.m. Saturday night. Tickets start at $45.

    Morgan Wade at Uptown Theater

    It’s a good weekend for country fans. Morgan Wade is performing in Kansas City on Friday night.
    She’s performing at the Uptown Theater, with Cameron Whitcomb.

    Tickets are $32 and the show starts at 8 p.m.

    HBCU Walk and Run

    The greater Kansas City chapter of “The Links” is hosting the seventh annual HBCU walk and run this weekend. It’s to raise scholarship money for metro students attending historically black colleges and universities.

    Kristen Holloway will be the emcee! It’s at Harris Park on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. You can find details at GKClinksinc.org .

    Gladstone Whiskey Festival

    The seventh annual Whiskey Fest is happening this weekend in Gladstone. Head to Linden Square, off northeast 70th and Cherry, from 4:30 to 8:30 on Saturday.

    You can get ten whiskey tastings for $25, or a VIP ticket for $100. There will also be live music and food.

    GloWild at the Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium

    Glo-wild continues this weekend at the Kansas City Zoo and Aquarium. General admission tickets are $24 for adults and $22 for children, seniors and the military.

    It goes until the end of the year. It takes about an hour and a half to walk through all of the lights and attractions.

    Dozer Day

    Dozer Day is back! Kids have a chance to get behind the wheel of some of the biggest machines working in construction.

    It’s at the Truman Sports Complex this Saturday and Sunday. It’s from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
    Tickets are $20 per person. Kids two and under get in free. Gates open at 10 a.m.

    Alice (in Wonderland) at the Kauffman Center

    KC Ballet invites you to Alice (in Wonderland.) They describe it as a trippy reimagining of the classic story, where Alice is not only a kid with a big imagination, she’s also an adrenaline junkie.

    Tickets start at $34. Performances will be held tonight through Sunday and again next weekend. The first show is at 7:30 on Friday.

    Oktober-Fiesta

    Boulevard Brewing Company is hosting “Oktober- Fiesta.” It’s their Oktoberfest and Day of the Dead mashup celebration with food, music, and drinks. It’s their 11th annual benefit for the Mattie Rhodes Center.

    A suggested $10 donation will get you in. They’ll have food and drink specials like a $20 “Keep the Stein” filled with beer. It’s happening Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.

    Old Town Lenexa Chili Challenge

    The Lenexa Chili Challenge is back! The free chili festival starts Friday with live music and a fireworks show.

    About 200 teams will compete in chili, wings, and salsa contests. Last year’s grand champion was “Howlin’ at the Spoon” from Olathe. It’s from 6 to 10 Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in old town Lenexa.
