KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One man has been arrested following a Frontenac, Kansas shooting that left one man dead yesterday, October 11.

According to a release from the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI), at around 8:40 p.m., Frontenac Police Department officers were dispatched to a residence on North Cayuga on reports of a shooting.

KBI says when officers arrived, they located one victim, identified as Jonathan Brewer, 39, of Frontenac unconscious at a neighbor’s residence. EMS arrived and attempted life-saving measures, but Brewer was pronounced dead.

The release from the KBI claims that Brewer and his neighbor, a 19-year-old male, also of Frontenac, were in an argument. He was arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder and booked in the Crawford County Jail.

The KBI, the Crawford Co. Sheriff’s Office and the Frontenac Police Department are investigating the alleged homicide.

Formal charges are now pending, this is an ongoing investigation and FOX4 will provide updates as they’re made available.
