    Clinton, Missouri man killed in rural Henry County crash

    KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Clinton, Missouri man is dead following a single-vehicle crash in rural Henry County.

    The crash was reported around 11:15 p.m. Friday on Highway 13, just south of NW 950th Road , according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol .

    MSHP reports the driver of a 2008 Ford Taurus was traveling northbound when he ran off the roadway, struck an embankment, overturned, struck a fence and an utility pole.

    The driver, identified as 39-year-old Michael F. Smith, was pronounced dead at the scene.

    According to the crash report from MSHP, it is unknown if Smith was wearing a seatbelt.

    The crash remains under investigation.
