Worlds of Fun, union move forward to stop strike from happening

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Worlds of Fun says it has a preliminary agreement on a new labor contract to avoid a strike.

The maintenance workers aren’t saying it’s a done deal though. They belong to the Service Employees Industry Union and authorized a strike earlier this month .

Worlds of Fun issued a statement Friday saying they’ve “agreed in principle” on a new contract and look forward to serving their guests.

The negotiators for the labor union paint a different picture. They say they’ve made significant progress on important topics and look forward to being back at the table October 17.
