(FOX40.COM) — Over 200 cats, dozens of them dead, are being removed from a Yuba County home , the Yuba County Sheriff’s Office said on Thursday.

According to the sheriff’s office, the Yuba County Animal Care Services team and deputies responded to several complaints about a residence in Plumas Lake, about 40 miles north of Sacramento, and found 160 living and 46 deceased cats at the home.

The sheriff’s office said the owner claimed to own a feral cat rescue and that it was unclear if the woman captured the cats herself or they were dropped off “by people or groups in the community who were familiar with her services.”

According to the sheriff’s office, as of Thursday afternoon, officials are still working on removing the animals.

“It will take days before the house is completely rid of the felines,” the sheriff’s office said.

Yuba County Animal Care Services is working with another rescue agency to handle the large number of cats.

So, if the cats were sick and she was taking care of them after they saw a vet. Then, when they got better, she found homes for them..... why is everyone so upset? The pictures of cats in cages are already in Animal control. What's everyone else's solution?Do you want more government control? Do you want death squads to just kill all the excess animals you don't want? Do you want everyone to just believe when animals get sick, outta site outta mind... no one's problem? Do you think hundreds of people will appear out of nowhere to adopt them?Do you think veterinarians will give people discounts, all of a sudden? Everyone is so opinionated, what's your bright idea of a solution?

Funny how all of those that posted to make such close minded comments like they know the story in its entirety….those that are so quick to judge without all the facts to know the situation is pure ignorance.
