(FOX40.COM) — Yuba County Sheriff’s office and animal care services recently discovered over 200 cats living inside a Plumas Lake home.

On Tuesday, YCSO said they responded to the 1300 block of Sundance Drive in Plumas Lake because of “numerous complaints.” Deputies did not specify what the complaints referred to, however, upon arrival, they found hundreds of cats scattered throughout the home.

Most of the cats were scared of humans and running away, according to YCSO. Deputies said the owner claimed to own a feral rescue and it’s “unclear if she went out
looking for the cats or if they were dropped off by people or groups in the community
who were familiar with her services.”

Officials said it will take several days to remove the cats from the home. As of Thursday, 160 cats were counted alive, and 46 more were found dead. YCSO said the incident is under investigation and “potential charges” may be filed. The county is also accepting donations for the large-scale cleanup and rescue.

oh im sure her or people she knows picked them up and took them to her house. I'm sure no cat rescue or other legit places who help cats would take that many cats to a residence claiming to be a cat rescue.
